**Shoddy Journalism: Daily Beast's Unfounded Attacks on Ted Cruz During Texas Tragedy**

In a distressing display of opportunism, the Daily Beast has attempted to exploit the recent tragedy in Texas for political gain, launching unwarranted attacks on Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) as he worked tirelessly to support relief efforts in the wake of catastrophic flooding.

Despite being criticized for supposedly vacationing in Athens while Texans faced devastating floods that have claimed at least 90 lives, including 28 children, Cruz's communications director was quick to set the record straight.

"A bulls*** piece published by a bulls*** rag outlet with no credibility, and with no regard for the tragedy in Texas," Macarena Martinez pointedly remarked about the Daily Beast's coverage.

Cruz returned to the United States as swiftly as possible and was on the ground in Texas within days of the disaster, taking pivotal steps to coordinate with President Donald Trump, Texas Governor Greg Abbott, and local emergency management officials.

"Texas is grieving right now,” Cruz expressed during a press conference, addressing the profound pain and shock experienced across the state in light of the recent floods.

In stark contrast to Cruz’s immediate and compassionate response, several media narratives have absurdly attempted to blame conservatives, including the previous administration, for the flooding.

Not to be outdone, CNN's Dana Bash went so far as to draw responsibility from climate change legislation tied to Trump’s presidency, while celebrity figures like Rosie O'Donnell chimed in to criticize supposed federal cuts to early warning systems.

However, meteorological experts provide a different perspective. They attribute the floods to rare natural circumstances rather than failed government policies.

Alan Gerard, a former director at NOAA's National Severe Storms Laboratory, stated, “Just looking at the actual warning services that NWS provided during the event, they were solid and provided the level of warning and alerts that the public should expect.”

While the loss of life in the floods is tragic, it is equally disheartening to witness mainstream media seize an opportunity to further political narratives rather than report facts.

In a world where misinformation can overshadow truth, it's crucial for the public to remain vigilant, recognize the efforts of those actually stepping up during times of crisis—including Cruz—and question the motives of those profiting from tragedy.

As the resilient people of Texas begin to piece their lives back together, it is the actions of dedicated public servants that will shine through, leaving an indelible mark on the state and beyond.
