Biden-Harris EV Mandates Threaten American Auto Jobs

Devastating.

That’s the word experts are using to describe the potential impact of the Biden-Harris administration's new electric vehicle rules on American jobs.

An analysis from the America First Policy Institute (AFPI) reveals that the administration’s push for electric vehicles (EVs) could lead to the elimination of 123,000 auto manufacturing jobs across the nation.

This is particularly alarming for Rust Belt states, where the automotive industry is a cornerstone of the economy.

Vice President Kamala Harris has further proposed even more radical measures that could exacerbate this situation—calling for a complete phase-out of gas-powered vehicles by 2035.

According to the AFPI, if Harris’s proposal were to be implemented, job losses could skyrocket to more than 191,000.

The repercussions of such policies would decimate communities that rely heavily on manufacturing jobs.

For instance, Michigan could see a loss of approximately 37,000 jobs, while Ohio and Indiana might lose 21,000 and 24,000 jobs, respectively.

Republican candidates like Mike Rogers, who is running for the U.S. Senate in Michigan, have vocally criticized these EV mandates.

Rogers, who has firsthand experience working in an auto plant, emphasized the detrimental effects these policies are having on Michigan autoworkers.

“The consequences of what this policy is doing to autoworkers in this state… these factory jobs are critical to our economy and to families,” Rogers stated.

With the recent analysis warning of dire consequences, the implications are clear: the Biden-Harris agenda is putting American workers on the chopping block in exchange for a radical environmental agenda.

As the election approaches, this issue should undoubtedly be at the forefront of conservative discussions.

Voters deserve to understand how such policies could jeopardize their livelihoods and their communities.

If these mandates go unchallenged, we risk witnessing the devastating impact on families who depend on the auto industry for their sustenance and economic stability.
