Five of President Joe Biden's federal agencies - including the Departments of Justice and Education - refused to define the word 'woman' days after his new Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson did the same.

In some cases, a few agencies failed to define the word even in relation to their own uses of terms such as 'women's health,' according to a Fox News Digital report.

The outlet contacted the Department of Justice (DOJ), Department of Education, Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the Federal Bureau of Prisons, all of which fall under the Biden administration's purview, with a request of providing a definition for the word 'woman.'

None of the five agencies were able to provide their definition for what constitutes a 'woman' when asked by Fox News.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH), which describes itself as 'the steward of medical and behavioral research for the Nation,' directed the outlet to its website section on 'sex and gender' when asked for the definition.

'"Sex" refers to biological differences between females and males, including chromosomes, sex organs, and endogenous hormonal profiles,' the NIH, whose director is Dr Anthony Fauci, claims on their website.

'"Gender" refers to socially constructed and enacted roles and behaviors which occur in a historical and cultural context and vary across societies and over time,' the website continues.

'All individuals act in many ways that fulfill the gender expectations of their society. With continuous interaction between sex and gender, health is determined by both biology and the expression of gender.'

But the agency still did not address the meaning of 'woman' or 'women' in regards to sex and gender, according to Fox News.

The NIH refused to comment further when asked for further clarification.

'We don’t have anything else to add,' the NIH replied.
