MSNBC accused of spreading misinformation about former President Trump's 2020 election remarks.

MSNBC has come under fire for allegedly misrepresenting a recording of former President Donald Trump discussing the 2020 election.

On Thursday, MSNBC's Nicolle Wallace claimed that there was a never-before-heard audio of Trump admitting he lost the election. However, the audio tells a different story.

In the recording, Trump can be heard recalling a conversation with Geraldo Rivera after the 2020 election. Trump says, "He is - after I lost the election - I won the election but when they said we lost, he called me up three or four times."

This statement has been interpreted by some as Trump admitting that he lost the election, but others argue that he was simply referring to the official results, which he has long disputed.

Trump's team has strongly denied the allegations, calling MSNBC's reporting "fake news." They also accused journalist Ramin Setoodeh of lying in order to sell his book.

"Ramin Setoodeh is full of shit. He had nothing but great and glowing things to say during his interviews with President Trump - now, he's lying in a sad, desperate attempt to sell his trash book," Trump's team said in a statement.

Trump campaign advisor Steven Cheung also weighed in on the controversy, saying that the Trump camp has "receipts" if Setoodeh wants to keep playing the recording game.

"We have receipts. If this writer wants to play the recording game, he'll be embarrassed by the things he said in these interviews," Cheung said.

This is not the first time that MSNBC has been accused of spreading misinformation about Trump. In the past, the network has been criticized for its coverage of the Russia investigation and the impeachment proceedings.

The controversy over the recording comes as Trump continues to hint at a possible 2024 presidential run. He has been holding rallies and speaking out on a variety of issues, including immigration, the economy, and the 2020 election.

Despite the ongoing controversy, Trump remains a popular figure among Republicans and conservatives. According to a recent poll, he has a 75% approval rating among Republicans.

As the 2024 election approaches, it is likely that Trump will continue to be a major player in American politics. Whether or not he decides to run for president again, his influence on the Republican party and the conservative movement is undeniable.
