University Textbook Labels Christians as White Supremacists

A shocking incident at the University of North Georgia has raised significant concerns over the portrayal of Christianity in academic textbooks.

Senior student Kelbie Murphy has called out a textbook used in her International Public Relations course, which labels Christians as a "U.S.-based white supremacist group."


This egregious characterization was found in chapter eight of the textbook, published in 2007, which included Christianity among a list of various identity groups.

Murphy, a devout Christian who was recently baptized, expressed her deep concern, stating that no academic scrutiny has been applied to this textbook, which perpetuates this harmful narrative.

“[This] has been shared for almost 20 years, and it was never questioned,” she remarked.

Murphy emphasized the importance of ensuring that students do not misconstrue Christianity due to such misleading descriptions, noting, “I don’t want people who don’t know who Jesus is or who don’t know what Christianity is to take this and run with this.”

The university attempted to defend the textbook by asserting that the reference in question does not pertain to Christianity itself but rather an extremist group that abuses Christian symbols to propagate hate.

However, many observers remain unconvinced. This incident highlights a broader trend in academia where conservative values and religious beliefs are frequently vilified.

Conservative voices across the nation are increasingly wary of the implications of such narratives, fearing they contribute to a larger agenda to marginalize Christianity and its teachings.
