Seattle Times Exposed: Media's Narrative Falls Apart

**Chaos** erupted in recent days as the Seattle Times attempted to fact-check former President Donald Trump, only to be handed a public relations disaster as their own reporting on the 2020 riots contradicted their claims.

During last week’s ABC News debate, Trump referred to the civil unrest that plagued cities like Seattle throughout the summer of 2020. The Seattle Times hastily labeled this portrayal as inaccurate.

However, the fallout was swift and merciless. Social media users, taking advantage of the platform to reveal the truth, highlighted that the Times had previously reported on the violence and mayhem that became synonymous with the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ) and the Capitol Hill Organized Protest (CHOP) during those chaotic months.

Twitter users pointed out that the Seattle Times’ own archives detail armed protestors taking control of streets, escalating violence, and even fatalities within these zones.

Critics wasted no time lambasting the publication for what many called “disgusting gaslighting.” Videos and tweets from individuals who had first-hand experience of the events surfaced, underscoring the publication's failure to acknowledge the harsh realities that transpired in Seattle.

Notably, journalist Andy Ngo, who covered the riots extensively, insisted that the Seattle Times was engaging in a narrative spin that runs counter to the facts. He remarked that its editors seemed either “willfully ignorant” or “delusional” given the overwhelming evidence available.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the challenges facing mainstream media today. Many Americans are growing increasingly skeptical of media narratives, particularly those that seem to protect political agendas rather than report the facts.

While attempting to paint Trump as a purveyor of misinformation, the Seattle Times inadvertently underscored the credible threats to the rule of law experienced during the 2020 riots.

As the election cycle heats up, conservatives are likely to remember moments like these when the establishment media’s push for narratives clashes with the truth of past events.

Trump’s defenders see this as yet another example of an ongoing war against free speech and honest reporting—issues that resonate deeply with voters who value accountability and truth in journalism. With public trust in the media plummeting, it remains to be seen how much longer outlets like the Seattle Times can continue to operate under a veil of credibility.
