Former GOP Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee has expressed his views on the current state of the Democratic Party, stating that they are in a "mess" and would not be able to replace President Joe Biden "comfortably" if they wanted to.

In an appearance on the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show, Huckabee said, "The Democrats are in a mess because they really can't replace him comfortably." He added that even if Biden were to step aside, the only person who could keep the $200 million campaign fund is Kamala Harris, and if it were anyone else, they could not inherit it.

Huckabee also noted that there is no apparent replacement for Biden within the Democratic Party. "It's not like there's only one person who has scrambled to get on that stage and stand in the spotlight," he said. "They've got a bunch of people like Newsom, Gretchen Whitmer ... who knows else might show up?"

This comes after Biden's poor performance in the first presidential debate against presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump, which led to some Democratic leaders calling on him to suspend his campaign. However, the White House has insisted that Biden will not be dropping out of the race.

Meanwhile, CNN data analyst Harry Enten has compared Biden's numbers to those of George H.W. Bush, who lost his bid for reelection in 1992. Enten noted that while Biden's numbers aren't as bad as some candidates from the past who ultimately dropped out, they are very similar to Bush's numbers.

Enten also pointed out that a big issue with getting Biden out is that Democrats don't want him to leave the race. The voters who could pressure their elected leaders want Biden to stay in.

These comments come as House Democrat leadership is reportedly in disarray over Biden's candidacy. It remains to be seen how the Democratic Party will navigate this situation as the election draws closer.
