Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick endorses Trump for president.

Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick has endorsed former President Donald Trump for the 2024 presidential election, the Trump campaign announced on Saturday. Kilpatrick, who served as a Democrat in the Michigan House of Representatives, was granted a commutation of his prison sentence for fraud and racketeering by Trump on his last day in the Oval Office.

"I can never thank President Trump enough for what he's done for me and my family by giving me freedom," Kilpatrick said in a statement. "But I believe this election and the issues involved are personal to every family and every person in America."

The Trump campaign also announced the creation of the "Black Americans for Trump" coalition, which aims to prioritize the Black community. "While Black Americans have been left behind by Joe Biden, President Trump has prioritized the Black community," said Team Trump Black Media Director Janiyah Thomas.

Kilpatrick's endorsement of Trump may prove particularly vital as the swing state of Michigan is expected to play an important role in determining the outcome of the 2024 election. Trump also received endorsements from other prominent black Americans, including Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., Rep. Byron Donalds, R-Fla., Rep. Wesley Hunt, R-Texas, Pastor Darrell Scott, radio host Larry Elder, and others.

Meanwhile, the Biden campaign has been accused of using deceptively edited clips from a speech Trump made at Turning Point USA's Detroit conference. The Biden campaign claimed that Trump said he wants to "throw women with beautiful children in mass detention camps." However, the edited clip left out the beginning where Trump was specifically saying that leftists will twist him saying he's going to incarcerate "terrorists" before deporting them, and instead claim that he's doing it to women and children.

In other news, Democrat President Joe Biden lost his temper and threatened a reporter during an event at the White House, video shows. Biden was hosting an event with social media influencers when he appeared angered by questioning, even threatening to throw his phone across the room. Independent journalist and social media darling Jonathan M. Katz was filming Biden while pressing him about his support for Israel during the war in Hamas-controlled Gaza. Katz asked Biden what he would do to prevent the "genocide" that was taking place with American-funded weapons. The president tried to sidestep the questions, claiming he was working to reduce casualties in Gaza. However, when Katz pressed him on the issue, the president grew impatient.

Biden has also lashed out publicly against traditional media outlets. During a press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the G7 Summit in Italy on Thursday, Biden complained that reporters were not following the "rules" by only asking questions about Ukraine. "I wish you guys would play by the rules a little bit," he grumbled after reporters asked about the war in Gaza. Biden also has threatened to fight journalists, when questioned about his age. "I can do it better than anybody you know," he said to TIME reporters during an interview. "You're looking at me, I can take you too."

The Biden campaign has spent $2 million to retain the firm Village Marketing, according to a report by The New York Times. The Democratic National Committee (DNC) is planning to invite a host of influencers to the convention. However, they are put off by the possibility of future uncomfortable videos of TikTok stars interacting with the president. Biden continues struggling to earn support from young stars on TikTok, especially after signing a bill that would effectively ban the app if the Chinese-owned company does not sell it.
