Breaking news: Radio host Charlamagne Tha God criticizes Democrats for lack of communication with voters they claim to represent.

In a recent podcast episode, radio host Charlamagne Tha God took aim at Democrats for their lack of communication with the voters they claim to represent. The host used a video of President Joe Biden appearing to freeze during a White House Juneteenth concert as an example of how Democrats exhibit "corny, goofy" behavior due to their lack of time spent in "the hood."

Charlamagne urged Democrats to "get off the hill and get to the hood" in order to better understand the needs and concerns of their constituents. He suggested that Democrats should hold town halls at historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) if they have no desire to visit "the hood."

The radio host also criticized black media personalities for defending Hunter Biden following his conviction in a federal gun trial. "Hunter Biden gets sentenced, and I see black folks in media: 'This is wrong, this is some BS. Nobody gets charged with this.' Negro, please. If you was black and they thought you was on drugs and you did what Hunter Biden did, they would have been put you under the jail," Charlamagne said.

This is not the first time Charlamagne has criticized Democrats for their lack of engagement with black voters. In a previous episode of his podcast, he called out Democrats for taking black voters for granted and not doing enough to address issues that are important to the black community.

The comments from Charlamagne come as former President Donald Trump has gained ground on President Biden's lead among black Americans since 2020. A May New York Times/Siena College poll found that Biden leads Trump 70% to 18% among black voters.

Trump has made efforts to reach out to black voters, including holding a large rally in the Bronx in May and reportedly considering Republican Florida Rep. Byron Donalds as a potential vice presidential pick. However, Democratic strategist and former Hillary Clinton spokesperson Karen Finney laughed while asserting that black voters will not cast any ballots for Donalds if Trump selects him as his running mate.

The lack of engagement with black voters has been a longstanding issue for Democrats, with some critics arguing that the party takes the black vote for granted. Charlamagne's comments highlight the need for Democrats to do more to engage with black voters and address the issues that are important to them.

As the 2024 election approaches, it remains to be seen whether Democrats will be able to win back the support of black voters. However, Charlamagne's comments serve as a reminder that Democrats cannot afford to take the black vote for granted if they hope to win in November.
