Yesterday, North Korea said President Trump's decision to cancel summit in Singapore was unexpected, regime is still willing to meet with the U.S. in the future.

Statement from North Korea:

(Pyongyang May 25, Chosun Central News Agency)

Kim Kye-gwan of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) announced on the 25th that the following statement was issued. Now, there is a historical reunion of the head of the world, which is closely watched by the world in extraordinary interest, and the preparatory work is being carried out at the deadline. Our earnest seeking and active efforts to settle the decades-long relationship between hostility and mistrust and to establish a new regime for the improvement of seasonal relations have received solid sympathy and support from within and outside. On December 24, President Trump announced that he would cancel the reunion of President Kim Jong II, President Trump said that it is not appropriate at this time to have a valuable meeting that had been planned for a long time, saying that "there is a great anger and a hostility to hostility" in the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Choi Sun Hee. I would like to conclude that President Trump 's statement on the reunion of Jomi head is a decision that is not in line with the ideals of mankind demanding the peace and stability of the world as well as the Korean peninsula. Trump's "great anger and hostile hostility" is a repulsion that the US has been pushing too much against the one-sided nuclear disarmament ahead of the reunion.

The disgraceful situation shows how severe the present situation of the seasonal hostility with deep historical roots and how desperately needing reunification for the improvement of the relationship is shown. Talking about the historic reunion, we have appreciated the fact that President Trump has attempted to make a fulcrum that no president has fallen in the past, and that he will make a serious matter of reunification. However, it is unexpected for us to announce the sudden unilateral cancellation of the talks and we can not help but feel very sorry. It is difficult to gauge whether it is because of lack of confidence in the reunification of leaders or the lack of confidence. But as a first step in solving problems through dialogue, I have done my sincere efforts with the expectation that it will be a meaningful starting point for improving the relationship between the two countries. We also hoped that the "trump method" would solve both of our concerns and would be a smart way to meet our requirements and act effectively in solving problems. Our committee chairman also made every effort to prepare for him, saying he would have a good start if he met President Trump. Nevertheless, the unilateral cancellation of the US side is making us think again about the hard work we have done and the way we are choosing to do this. However, our goal and will to do everything for peace and stability of the Korean peninsula and mankind remains unchanged, and we are always willing to give time and opportunity to the US side with a big and open mind.
There is no doubt that we will not be able to meet you at first, but if you solve it step by step, it will be better if the relationship is better than now. If you want to be worse, you will have to ponder the US too deeply. We reiterate to the US that there is a willingness to sit down at any time, in any way, to solve the problem.
