Democrat Senator Mark Warner of Virginia is not going with the popular crowd when it comes to liberal views on gun control.
Warner says that no single form of gun control would have stopped the recent mass shooting in Texas.
As reported by washingtonexaminer.com
Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., admitted Sunday there wasn't a single gun control bill that would've prevented a high school shooting in Santa Fe, Texas, in which 10 people were killed.
"I don't think there's a single piece of legislation, but there are a series of actions," Warner said during an interview on CNN's "State of the Union."
"Are there things we can do that would improve the safety of our schools? Absolutely. Should there be more mental health counseling for troubled teens ... ? Absolutely. Making sure people are safer with their own firearms? Absolutely," he continued.
But Warner was adamant a comprehensive approach aimed at stopping similar tragedies in the future had to include some degree of gun control, such as measures addressing background checks and assault-style weapons.
Most Democrats view things the same; just make guns illegal, and that will solve everything. Of course they have no answer for the approximate 300 million that are already floating around in the United States alone. Guns that criminals will continue to have access to, while breaking laws that they can nothing about.
Here's what a couple of people had to say.
