President Trump has taken to twitter to endorse John Cox as the next Governor of California.
This tweet also acted as a slight to Democratic Governor Jerry Brown who criticised President Trump this week for his comments during an immigration meeting.
California Gov. Jerry Brown (D) took aim at President Trump Wednesday for his comments at a roundtable on so-called sanctuary cities in California, saying that the president was "lying" about immigration and the state's laws.
"@realDonaldTrump is lying on immigration, lying about crime and lying about the laws of CA," Brown tweeted, including a Pinocchio emoji.
"Flying in a dozen Republican politicians to flatter him and praise his reckless policies changes nothing," he continued. "We, the citizens of the fifth largest economy in the world, are not impressed."
Trump held the session on California's sanctuary cities at the White House earlier Wednesday. The roundtable featured state and federal officials who oppose the policies protecting immigrants living in the U.S. illegally.
