"NBC Nightly News" has seen its ratings slip, and Lester Holt may be facing heat from the network as a result.
From Page Six:
ABC News has been crowing about its flagship “World News Tonight With David Muir” taking the gold medal during the Winter Olympics, putting rival Lester Holt and his “NBC Nightly News” in the silver spot.
But sources tell Page Six that, with Muir passing Holt in overall audience and closing the gap in the all-important 25-to-54-year-old demographic, Holt’s bosses at NBC are beginning to sweat. And to make things even more awkward, Brian Williams — whom Holt replaced on “Nightly News” after Williams was caught telling fibs on the air — is a smash hit at his new gig at MSNBC.
Meanwhile, sources tell us that if Holt’s stats were ever to get into terminal territory and the network needed to make a change in the anchor’s chair, the Peacock Network’s recent crises would put them in a major bind.
We’re told that Savannah Guthrie — who has been a huge hit as “Today” co-host with Hoda Kotb since Matt Lauer was fired for alleged sexual misconduct in November — “would absolutely be a contender [for the ‘Nightly News’ gig],” and that “before Matt was fired, you could make a case to move Savannah to [‘Nightly News’], but it’s impossible to do that now.”
Bank-busting hire Megyn Kelly would be out, given that she’s having her own ratings woes.

MSNBC did a piece about the many conspiracy theories floating around about the Florida school shooting, specifically about now famous survivor David Hogg.
During the piece they call out several independent news sites, and Donald Trump Jr. himself.

President Trump just publically shamed CNN and MSNBC:
“Bad ratings @CNN & @MSNBC got scammed when they covered the anti-Trump Russia rally wall-to-wall. They probably knew it was Fake News but, because it was a rally against me, they pushed it hard anyway. Two really dishonest newscasters, but the public is wise!”
NBC's 2018 Winter Olympics coverage seems to be sinking lower and lower on a daily basis. After figure skater Adam Rippon declined their invitation to be a correspondent, Mikaela Shiffrin has also withdrawn from multiple events, leaving very little for NBC to cover.
From dailymail.co.uk: It was more bad news for NBC on Monday, as Olympian Mikaela Shiffrin announced that she was pulling of out the downhill race on Wednesday in an effort to focus on alpine combined event the following day.
That decision came after organizers moved the combined from Friday to Thursday in order to avoid high winds, and following Shiffrin's disappointing fourth-place finish in the slalom last week.
The golden girl of skiing, who was chasing five Gold medals at these Games, has now pulled out of two events, causing problems for NBC and its prime time coverage which has been lacking in both household names and medal winners.
