Amnesty advocates are protesting ICE targeting illegals at apartment complexes with large numbers of illegal residents.
Amnesty and open borders advocates complain that U.S. Immigration and Enforcement (ICE) officers are going to Houston apartment complexes that have large Hispanic populations.
FIEL, an advocacy group located in the Bayou City point to the arrest of a Guatemalan national, Carlos Gudiel Andres, according to a report by the Associated Press. ICE agents arrested Andres last month at a Houston complex.
His family told the press that ICE officers approached Andres about certain individuals they were looking for, and in the process asked him for his identification. When he gave the agents his ID, they determined there was an active deportation order on him.
Cesar Espinosa, executive director of FIEL (Familias Immigrantes y Estudiantes en la Luchall or “Immigrant Families and Students in the Struggle”), said that his group received other reports of ICE agents at apartment complexes in Houston during early mornings. No further explanation or details beyond the Andres case were reported.
Espinosa charged that he wants to know “if they’re asking only certain people who may look a certain way,” the AP reported.
A statement from ICE officials to the AP said Andre’s apartment was “identified as part of a targeted enforcement operation.”

Police in Washington State revealed that an illegal immigrant was arrested in one of the state’s
most horrifying murders in one of its sanctuary cities.
The Daily Wire reported: Police in Washington State revealed on Thursday that a man who was arrested in a horrifying murder in one of the state's sanctuary cities is an illegal alien who was wanted by federal immigration authorities.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials were seeking 37-year-old Rosalio Ramos-Ramos late last year, and nearly apprehended him from a hospital to which police had transferred him before he managed to slip out, Circa News reported.
Timeline of events:
Kent Police arrested Ramos-Ramos in October after they got a call about an alleged sexual assault and discovered methamphetamine on him.
After arriving at Kent Jail, Ramos-Ramos said he wanted to die and then attacked the corrections staff when they tried to get his fingerprints so they could verify his identity, injuring five.
Ramos-Ramos sustained a head injury during the altercation and was transported to an unidentified local hospital for evaluation and treatment.
The local hospital transported him to Harborview Medical Center where he was placed in a medically-induced coma because he was acting violently toward the hospital staff.

A man illegally in the U.S. was found guilty for murdering two California deputies.
Luis Bracamontes was in the U.S. illegally when he shot and killed Sacramento County sheriff’s Deputy Danny Oliver and Placer County sheriff’s Detective Michael Davis Jr.
apnews.com reports: A man in the United States illegally was convicted Friday of killing two Northern California deputies in a case that helped fuel the national immigration debate.
Luis Bracamontes was found guilty of shooting Sacramento County sheriff’s Deputy Danny Oliver in 2014, then killing Placer County sheriff’s Detective Michael Davis Jr. hours later.
“Yay,” he said softly after first verdict read, looking at the victims’ families and jurors with slight smile.
“I’m going to kill more cops soon,” Bracamontes said as he was led away.
Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for Bracamontes, who has repeatedly blurted out in court that he killed the deputies and wished he had killed more. The penalty phase of his trial starts March 5.
