BREAKING: It's Killed Over 100 Already In The U.S.!

A brutal flu strain has apparently killed at least 100 people in the U.S. already.

From CBS Philadelphia:

There’s a growing number of deaths and hospitalizations blamed on the flu, which is now spreading rapidly across the country.

The CDC says the flu is now widespread in 46 states, which includes the tri-state region.

There are four times as many flu cases now as compared with this time last year.

It is still too soon to say just how bad this flu season will be, but the CDC believes it could reach near epidemic levels.

Young children are being especially hard hit.

Eight-month-old Kingston Smith is hospitalized with the flu, among roughly 10,000 children under the age of 4 who have been hospitalized.

“About four days ago, he started breathing hard, vomiting, having fevers, so I drove here to the hospital and they said, ‘Yes, we need to keep him,'” Shareeka, Kingston’s mother said.

Nationwide influenza is widespread. Of the 100 people who have died from flue so far this season, 13 are children.

“Unfortunately, it can cause a lot of complications. Children can get severely sick, actually need to be in the ICU,” Dr. Claire Bocchini, an infectious disease specialist, said.

A bus has crashed into an underground passage in Moscow, Russia.

From RT: Five people were killed by a bus that crashed down the stairs of an underground passage in western Moscow, police said. The driver of the bus was taken into custody. The incident happened on Kutuzovsky Avenue, near the Slavyansky Bulvar metro station in the western part of the Russian capital. Five people were killed and about a dozen injured in the crash, police said. Three people were taken to hospital for treatment. The authorities said they were not treating the incident as a case of vehicular terrorism at this time. Their primary version of what happened is a technical malfunction that caused the bus to veer off the road and down the stairway.

Another version is human error, as suggested by people working for the bus line. According to the driver’s supervisor, he might have fallen asleep and pushed the gas pedal accidentally. The supervisor also told RT that the driver had started his shift at 1:30pm on Monday, about two hours before the crash. He also said that the driver had worked normal shifts of 11 hours for the past two days. The director of the bus company is at the scene of the accident, he added.
