From The Hill: The National Rifle Association (NRA) is shelling out thousands of dollars into the Alabama Senate race ramping up their efforts to oppose Democratic candidate Doug Jones just days before the election is set to end.
The powerful gun rights lobbying group spent nearly $55,000 paying for mailers on Tuesday that take aim at Jones, according to Federal Election Commission filings.
Despite the anti-Trump mailbox campaign, the NRA has not formally endorsed any candidate in the race that is set to come to a head on Dec. 12.
