A U.S. diplomat has been shot in the foot during an attempted robbery.
The Hill reported: Brazilian police say a U.S. diplomat was shot in the foot during an attempted robbery three hours outside of Rio de Janeiro, the Associated Press reports.
Vice consul Stephanie Bohlen and a man identified as her partner were attacked while driving Thursday night on a coastal road while traveling in the area, federal highway police said. Bohlen’s male partner was not injured.
Bohlen was initially brought to a local hospital, then transferred to a hospital in Rio for surgery.
