BREAKING: Target shooting suspect dead, no other victims reported

The Omaha Police Department says officers fatally shot a man who walked into the Target at 178th and Center St. firing an AR-15 on Tuesday afternoon.

Police Chief Todd Schmaderer said multiple searches of the store were conducted and no other victims were found.

The first active shooting calls came in around 11:59 a.m. Police say over twenty calls were received and authorities arrived within minutes.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 30s who walked into the store firing multiple rounds with an AR-15 rifle who had “plenty of ammunition.” Multiple shell casings were found, according to police.

Officers arrived and confronted the individual and ultimately killed the suspect. He died at the scene.
