California man dies after caged golf cart sinks

A man was discovered dead Monday in a submerged, caged golf cart in a canal at a golf course in Indio, California.
According to Cal Fire the maintenance vehicle was submerged on its side in a canal on the grounds of the Terra Lago golf course. A technical rescue performed at the scene at about 3 p.m. removed the cart. Firefighters extracted the vehicle and reported that the man "perished at the scene." Cause of death was not stated.
