Governor Ron DeSantis activates Florida National Guard "immediately"

National Guard immediately, according to the governor's office. DeSantis writes the order is, "In response to reports of potential civil unrest."

DeSantis is directing the National Guard to coordinate and support the Florida Department of Law Enforcement in its efforts to support state and local law enforcement ahead of planned protests surrounding President-Elect Joe Biden's inauguration on Wednesday, January 20th.
