Trump rallies planned across Florida, loyalists eager to welcome president home

MIAMI — From Pensacola to Palm Beach, supporters of President Trump will be gathering in cities across Florida Saturday at noon in a show of support and to welcome their “hero” home, organizers and party loyalists told the Washington Examiner.

“This is President Trump's ground zero, his home base,” said Michael Barnett, chairman of the Palm Beach Republican Party and a stalwart supporter of the president.

“He’s getting ready to move back to Mar-a-Lago,” he continued. “We're ready to welcome him back as our president, as our good friend, our hero, and great servant of our country who got shafted by the establishment.”

Barnett said the Palm Beach GOP will be behind Trump if he decides to run again in 2024. The party chairman highlighted that Trump’s share of the vote in the traditionally blue county increased from 41% to 43% in the last election, an increase of 63,000 votes over the president's 2016 tally.

“Florida is pretty much a safe Republican state,” he added while predicting a campaign role for Trump in coming GOP contests, especially for the reelection bid for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Loyal Trump supporter Willy Guardiola helped organize gatherings across the state for Saturday at noon and still holds out hope that President-elect Joe Biden will not be inaugurated next week.
