Secretary of state’s office says online posts are putting lives in jeopardy

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — The Georgia secretary of state’s office says online posts about an elections company contractor are essentially encouraging murder and have placed the worker’s life in jeopardy.

One post claims to show video of a Dominion Voting Systems worker manipulating election data in Gwinnett County. Secretary of State spokesman Gabriel Sterling says in reality it shows no such thing.

A follow-up post shows a noose and appears to name the worker, accusing him of treason and says “May God have mercy on your soul.”

In fiery afternoon news conference this afternoon, Sterling called out Republican leaders and the president, who he says have failed to speak out against such language and, in some cases, have encouraged it.

“Somebody’s gonna get hurt or somebody’s gonna get killed,” Sterling told Channel 2 investigative reporter Mark Winne. “Neither of those is acceptable.”...(Read more)
