ACEY, Wash. - Law enforcement officials say the man believed to have fatally shot an alleged Proud Boy member following skirmishes between Black Lives Matter protesters and a pro-Trump caravan in Portland, Oregon pointed a handgun at officers before being shot.
Michael Forest Reinoehl, 48, was shot and killed by law enforcement officers in Lacey on September 3. A report released by the Thurston County Sheriff's Office says the Critical Incident Investigation Team can confirm that Reinoehl pointed a gun at officers before being shot and killed. It is unclear if he fired the gun.
There is currently no video of the actual shooting.
According to the Thurston County Sheriff's Office, detectives found a fired shell casing in Reinoehl's vehicle that matches his .380 caliber handgun. The sheriff's office says no officers were carrying a weapon of this caliber at the time of the shooting.... (Read more)
