Deputies raid meth house, find original Ku Klux Klan hood

Deputies who raided a meth house in Clayton County also discovered Ku Klux Klan paraphernalia.

Clayton County Sheriff’s Deputies raided a home in Jonesboro Tuesday night and found 6-7 ounces of methamphetamine, scales and drug bags for sale purposes, a gun and thousands of dollars in cash.

John Eric Spencer, 46, was arrested without incident.

Deputies found something disturbing in a hallway:

"Shadow-boxed and encased within the wall for display was an original Klansman suit approximately 60 to 70 years old," sheriffs wrote.

Channel 2′s Tom Jones talked to neighbors, who said they were shocked and they never thought the suspect would have something like that in his home.

Both a Black neighbor and a Hispanic neighbor of Spencer’s said he was as friendly as they come.

“I’m shocked, I am shocked” a neighbor who didn’t want to be identified said. “I’m thinking, ‘You’re sure that’s the right house?‘”... (Read more)
