Democratic California Rep. Adam Schiff said Wednesday that he is “working on” legislation that would create a commission reviewing the U. S. government’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic.
The House Intelligence Committee chairman said the commission would model the U. S. response to 9/11 and Pearl Harbor.
“After Pearl Harbor and 9/11, we looked at what went wrong to learn from our mistakes,” Schiff said. “Once we’ve recovered, we need a nonpartisan commission to review our response and how we can better prepare for the next pandemic. I’m working on a bill to do that.”
